THE POSITION The Coordinator III, Career Technical Education-Credentials and Apprenticeships, will serve as a liaison with leaders from community organizations, industry partners, Community College districts, the California Department of Education (CDE), California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) and other educational agencies to support teacher credentialing and expansion of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs. This position requires specialized, progressive expertise in Career Technical Education (CTE), credentialing, and apprenticeship programs. The Coordinator III will lead and manage the team in planning, organizing, and assisting in the administration of the Designated Subjects-CTE, Adult Education, and Supervision and Coordination Credentials Unit; Provide consultation and support to school districts and credential candidates; and assist in budget preparation and reporting. This position also serves as the local education agency (LEA) contact for the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) for current program sponsors and supports outside agencies in establishing and expanding pre-apprentice and apprenticeship programs. Under administrative direction, the Coordinator III makes decisions of critical consequence, impacting the goals, organization, and administration of educational programs, services for the program and/or office, and performing related duties as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTIC This class is distinguished from other classes in the following ways: The Coordinator III position involves leadership, program development, and strategic responsibilities. Knowledge is applied to personnel management, research, evaluation, critical thinking, and candidate recruitment to meet the needs of underrepresented groups, and administrative operations. Supervisor responsibilities include leading, planning, assigning, providing feedback, and evaluating the quality and quantity of work for a small number of personnel.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Three or more years of comprehensive experience in school site administration, including at least two years of education as a principal, district, or county office of education administrator. District CTE Administrative experience is desirable. Education: A master's degree in education or related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE All applicants must attach credentials with document number to their application. Please do not attach the certificate copy of your Credential. • Possess and maintain a valid K-12 California Administrative Services Credential and • Possess and maintain a valid California Career Technical Education Teaching Credential/Vocational Education Credential, California Single Subject Teaching Credential, or Pupil Personnel Services (PPS)
