The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central. The Multilingual Learner Specialist (MLS) is a passionate instructional leader responsible for advancing literacy and language development outcomes for all learners at Gabriella Charter School 2, with a focused commitment to multilingual learners. The MLS provides coaching to teachers and instructional support staff, leads high-impact professional learning, and strengthens both designated and integrated English Language Development (ELD). This role builds teacher capacity in evidence-based literacy instruction, leverages data to inform instructional decision-making, and establishes systems that accelerate multilingual learner achievement. The MLS also develops and implements family literacy initiatives that promote literacy and biliteracy across the school community.
