Requirements / Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and five (5) years of experience in the operation of a school bus. Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: A valid California Class B driver’s license with a passenger and school bus endorsement, a good driving record and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance policy. A valid School Bus Driver Instructor certificate issued by state Department of Education, with no instructional limitations. A valid First Aid certificate or Special School Bus Driver certificate without restriction. A valid Department of Transportation biannual physical examination. A valid Special School Bus Driver’s certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol. Upon acceptance of the District’s offer of employment, new hires may be required to complete a baseline physical examination prior to the first day of employment.   • Certificate Copy (California Special School Bus Driver Certificate issued by the CHP (must be attached at time of application))
  • Certification (A valid School Bus Driver Instructor certificate issued by state Department of Education, with no instructional limitations.)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (must be attached at time of application)
  • Driver's License Copy (must be attached at time of application)
  • Other (Medical Examiner's Certificate)
  • Proof of HS Graduation (must be attached at time of application)
