Job Summary

This position will provide computer science instruction to K-6 students at multiple schools. You will get on the job training with the various computer programs such as Scratch and JavaScript.

Essential Job Functions

• Planning lessons and activities using the district computer science curriculum to facilitate students' acquisition of basic computer science skills 
• Creating a fun and inclusive environment where students can develop their confidence to acquire computer science skills
• Observing and managing classroom dynamics 
• Work collaboratively with the Computer Science team on implementation to maintain a cohesive K-6 program
• Communicate and coordinate with classroom teachers around scheduling and lessons
• Attend professional development in order to stay current with the trends in computer science and to be open to presenting at conferences
• Support and organize computer science events
• Schedules can vary and travel to school sites will be required
• Other duties as assigned   

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of computer programming or willingness to learn through professional development
• Valid CA Single Subject or Multiple Subject credential 
• Ability to work with K-6 students
