Pomona Unified School District and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona Teacher Residency Program - Education Specialist credential program at Pomona Unified School District
IN-HOUSE VACANCY - INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY
This position is only available to current employees of this school district. Applications submitted by job seekers not currently employed by the school district will not be considered.
About the Employer
The Pomona Unified School District, in partnership with parents and community, provides a well-rounded, challenging, and quality educational program that develops character and integrity. Students are equipped and empowered through academic opportunities, career and technical experiences, and whole-student supports needed for college and career success. A service culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement empowers all to flourish with trust and pride.
Requirements / Qualifications
To be eligible to complete this application, the applicant should have previously completed the Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) Teacher Residency interest form. Residents who are selected to enter the residency program will be in their final year with two semesters of CPP's Education Specialist credential program, and should currently be enrolled in the CPP Education Specialist credential program. In an effort to reduce barriers and streamline the licensure process for educators in California, the Governor’s 2024-25 Budget Trailer Bill includes amendments to the California Basic Skills Requirement that remove the BSR as a condition for licensure for most credentials and permits. For those credentials and permits where the BSR remains, the amendments also allow any credential candidate to satisfy the California Basic Skills Requirement outlined in Education Code section 44252 through the possession of a bachelor’s (or higher) degree earned at a regionally accredited college or university. This provision, authorized through Senate Bill (SB) 153, is effective June 29, 2024. If you do not hold a bachelor's degree, the requirement to meet the BSR still applies, along with meeting all other requirements for an Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit for Prospective Teachers.
- Copy of Transcript (Unofficial Cal Poly Pomona Transcripts)
- Credential Copy (Please attach a copy of your Credential/Permit if you have one. If you are selected to move forward in the hiring process and you do not hold a 30-Day Permit, but meet qualifications for one, PUSD will apply on your behalf contingent upon all required clearances, materials and eligibility are met.)
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) letters of recommendation/reference dated within the last three (3) years with wet signature; one must be from a recent immediate supervisor.)
- Resume
