We serve students in grades 9-12 and have an extensive adult education program. Job Summary
The Instrumental Music Programs at AUHSD have a history of performing rich, seasoned repertoire. Prior directors have provided a challenging environment for players through the use of exceptional conducting skills and compelling rehearsal techniques. Students, administrators, and parents are committed to preserving the high standards and culture of respect that are a hallmark of this program. The program does not have a marching band, and there are no plans to form one. Tours and music festivals have occasionally been a part of the program, but are at the discretion of the director. As part of the interview process, final candidates will be expected to lead/conduct a live rehearsal. (round 2) The AUHSD community cultivates appreciation for the arts, providing financial and moral support for music teachers. Applicants for this position should expect to collaborate with partners across the school district and community.
