Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Student Support Services, instructs and monitors classroom teachers, assistants, and school personnel in the implementation of behavior programs which may include instructional strategies and techniques based on the principles of applied behavior analysis. Provides training for and interacts professionally with parents (including home visits), school and district personnel, and other pertinent professionals. Keeps abreast of behavior literature, practices, and regulations. Understands and follows current guidelines regulating the implementation of behavior programming. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Two years experience in providing educational programs and/or behavioral intervention for students with autism and/or emotional disturbance preferred. Education: Any combination equivalent to: Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis with BCBA program completed (will consider candidates on track to complete BCBA program if at least 80% of program has been completed), or have master’s degree in related field with at least some graduate training in Applied Behavior Analysis or behavior management. Skills: Strong people, communication, and organizational skills preferred. Licenses: Valid California driver’s license This position is part of the Special Services Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience and education on the Special Services Employee Salary schedule. The Mariposa County Unified School District is located in Mariposa County and serves grades K-12. With approximately 1,700 students, the area consists of several necessary small schools, K-8 schools, and one comprehensive high school.
Mariposa County has several rural communities that surround Yosemite National Park and are centrally located in California to provide a day's drive to old-growth forests, deserts, coastal communities, and cities.
