Job Description: Irvine Chinese Immersion Academy (ICIA) is seeking a passionate, student-centered Education Specialist to join our TK–8 Mandarin immersion community for the 2026–2027 school year. Under the guidance of the Special Education Coordinator, the Education Specialist enhances the instructional program for all students by providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional intervention services to identified students. The Education Specialist actively participates as a key member of the educational team that evaluates student performance in relation to disabilities, develops assessment reports, and identifies student capabilities within educational, developmental, and functional contexts. This role includes contributing to the development of measurable goals and objectives for consideration during Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings, ensuring proper documentation and reporting, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. The Education Specialist plays an essential role in fostering inclusive practices that align with ICIA’s commitment to academic excellence, bilingual achievement, and whole-child development. All employees are expected to adhere to the responsibilities and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook. This position offers a manageable caseload, strong administrative support, and the opportunity to provide meaningful, individualized services in a collaborative, mission-driven charter school setting.

Requirements / Qualifications

Letter of Introduction (500 words): Please describe your teaching experience, instructional approaches, and long-term goals as an educator. 3. Current resume 4. Three current letters of recommendation (dated within the past three years, including at least one from a direct supervisor) 5. Copies of credentials 6. Copies of degree(s), unofficial transcripts, and CBEST and/or CSET results Education -Bachelor's degree -Possess a valid CA Mild/Moderate California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with EL authorization, Added Autism Authorization, and any other credentialing requirements -An Intern/University Certificate ----> If you will be credentialed by the end of this semester, please include a letter from your university. Your letter must state when you will earn your Mild/Moderate Credential with AAAS and EL Authorization. b. EL Authorization (preferred; if included on your credential, copy of credential will be sufficient) c. Added Autism Authorization Spectrum Credential – AAAS (preferred; if included on your credential, copy of credential will be sufficient) d. Bilingual (preferred)

Required Qualifications: -Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance requirements -Experience providing specialized academic instruction -Competent in maintaining confidentiality and accurate state records -Proficient in computer operations and assigned software applications -Strong collaboration and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: -Two years of teaching experience -Experience in a charter school or small LEA -Experience working in inclusive or co-teaching models -Experience in dual-language or immersion programs -Commitment to culturally responsive and strengths-based practices
