THE MUSEUM SCHOOL is a tuition-free, public charter school that serves students from all over San Diego in Kindergarten through 8th grade. While learning to read, write, do mathematics and science, “learning to learn” is our capstone skill, supported by our “Community Goals” of becoming responsible citizens, productive workers, creative healthy individuals, problem solvers and self-directed learners. The Museum School’s curriculum seeks to go beyond the basics by teaching kids how to learn and opening opportunities to understand why they are learning. Project based departments and enriching classes such as art, music, sewing, movement, and media arts are part of the regular curriculum. The Museum School also provides a mainstreamed approach for our students with special needs. We are located near Balboa Park in San Diego, providing a wide breadth of opportunities for our students and teachers to utilize museum galleries and park space as extensions of the classroom. We are currently seeking a dynamic, friendly and patient 1 on 1 Aide Paraprofessional preferably certified (or wiling to be trained within the first two months of employment) as an ABA Technician or RBT to work 1 on 1 with a delightful young 4th grade student in a mainstreamed classroom under the supervision of the school’s Education Specialist and 4th Grade teacher, and in cooperation with Special Education providers, BCBA Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Assistive Technology and Adaptive PE teacher. We are seeking someone who is trained (or willing to be trained) in AAC (Alternative Augmented Communication) The candidate should also be comfortable in supporting the student in toileting, based on provided training and current protocols. Bilingual Preferred Hourly pay of $20 - $26 based on experience General Responsibilities: Working 1:1 with student with special needs to support the development of their communication, self-help

Bilingual Preferred Hourly pay of $23 - $26 based on experience Signing Bonus - $500 - $1000 General Respnsibilities: Working 1:1 with student with special needs to support the development of their communication, self-help, social, and play skills Implementing behavior plans designed by BCBAs, including tailoring techniques and strategies to meet individual needs and ensure skill acquisition Implementing academic supports designed by Education Specialist and IEP Team Assist IEP team with preparation of student materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols Effectively communicate with parents and educators regarding student progress as instructed by supervising teacher Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with student and appropriately report all critical incidents and safety concerns Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and work environment Be aware of and capable to follow medical protocols Attend IEP meetings Attending ongoing development and training designed to strengthen services provided
Requirements / Qualifications
High School Diploma or GDE College Preferred At least one year of experience working with young students in a school setting as an aide or youth leader Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or RBT preferred - Willing to be trained within first two months of employment Background DOJ & FBI check TB Clearance CPR Certification Reference Check
