***PLEASE READ FULL JOB DESCRIPTION LINKED IN THIS POST*** JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Coordinator III, College & Career Readiness – Court and Community Schools provides leadership, coordination, and technical assistance to support counseling services, graduation pathways, A–G access, and College & Career Indicator (CCI) outcomes for students enrolled in juvenile court schools and county community schools. The position advances equitable postsecondary readiness for highly mobile, justice-involved, credit-deficient, and at-risk youth by strengthening academic planning systems, alternative pathway development, credit recovery models, and transition supports. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This position is distinguished by its specialized focus on alternative education populations within court and community school settings, requiring deep expertise in graduation pathways, accountability systems, and cross-agency collaboration. The role integrates academic counseling systems, compliance monitoring, and program development while navigating complex student mobility, credit accrual challenges, and trauma-informed practices. Unlike traditional counseling or instructional support roles, this position emphasizes system-level coordination, data analysis tied to alternative education accountability measures, interagency partnerships, and the expansion of flexible graduation and postsecondary access pathways designed specifically for highly mobile and justice-involved youth. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of secondary administrative experience with comprehensive, directly related and progressive experience, including some experience working with students on college and career readiness Education: A master's degree and appropriate teaching/administrative credentials from an institution of higher learning accredited LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Possess and maintain a valid California administrative credential and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service as a school counselor.
