Job Summary

Job Summary

Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Participates and assists in the development of the SELPA Local Plan, policies, and procedures. • Develops materials and resources for implementation of SELPA policies and procedures. • Supervises and evaluates program personnel in accordance with established MCOE policies and procedures. • Provides professional leadership through the coordination and delivery of professional development, coaching, mentoring, and serving as an expert to assist districts with initiatives, compliance, laws, codes, policies, procedures, and student improvement. • Plans, develops, and provides professional development for district staff on a variety of topics, including but not limited to Positive Behavioral Programming and Evidence Based Practices for students with Autism, that support outcomes for students with disabilities. • Compiles, reviews, and analyzes a variety of technical data and information related to compliance, student performance, and/or assigned program areas. • Ensures smooth daily operation of assigned programs. • Implements and monitors program budgets. • Determines needs for and provides appropriate staff development. • Provides support and technical assistance to district administrators, special education and general education staff, and agencies, including the MCOE, in matters related to compliance and performance improvement. • Coordinates the SELPA Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)program, including but not limited to facilitation of IEP meetings at the request of districts and families, technical assistance and consultation regarding mediation and Due Process. • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with outside groups which may include, but not be limited to districts, parents, community agencies, volunteer groups, county and city government departments and local businesses that include individuals of diverse ethnic, racial, linguistic, and social backgrounds.

Requirements / Qualifications

Certification & Qualification Requirements: • Valid California Administrative Credential or PPS Credential. • 5 years of successful administrative work, and experience in the field of special education preferred.

Condition of Employment: Employees are required to submit to a Department of Justice background check and provide proof of freedom from tuberculosis and vaccination of Measles.
