Requirements / Qualifications

DEFINITION: Under supervision, perform duties relating to the installation, configuration, and support of the District’s Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Area Network (WLAN), and Intranet systems. Maintain network hardware, operating systems, and related software. Monitor and maintain the network to ensure availability to all system users. Regulate access to data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure of confidential information. Work with school staff to maintain and support the classroom and office network at selected sites and do related work as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Computer experience and basic knowledge of networking and video equipment. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of: Current video, multimedia and computer network technology. Ability to: Operate a variety of video, multimedia and networked computer equipment/devices; install and repair all computers; install, inspect, maintain and perform minor repairs to audio/visual equipment; learn quickly and maintain current knowledge with respect to new technologies; instruct others in the use and care of video, multimedia and computer equipment; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
