Education Specialist Middle/High School - INTERVIEW WILL NOT BE SCHEDULED UNTIL APRIL 2026 Aspen Public Schools is seeking an experienced full-time Education Specialist. Education Specialist will provide special education services to meet the requirements of mild to moderate needs of exceptional learners, and collaborate with classroom teachers in planning for instruction that integrates learning and is aligned with the California Common Core State Standards. The Education Specialist will work closely with the school team to supervise students according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Identify the needs of assigned students through formal and informal assessments. Review referral, history, and assessment data to develop appropriate goals and objectives for each student. Collaborate with general education teachers regarding each student's educational and social-emotional needs and objectives. Plan, develop, and implement individualized learning plans for each student. Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans according to Individual Educational Plans (IEPs). Utilize research-based methods of learning for instruction to meet the needs of each student in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Monitor, evaluate, and document each student's progress utilizing appropriate measurements and assessment devices. Prepare timely IEPs and progress reports for each student. Collaborate and consult with school personnel regarding implementing IEPs and special educational services.
