Major Duties and Responsibilities: · Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals · Maintains an ongoing evaluation system for monitoring student’s program and progress · Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments · Designs and implements vocational instructional programs in specific occupational field (e.g. curriculum, goals/objectives, hands-on-training, etc.) · Maintains learning environment and machinery/tools in a safe, orderly, and clean manner · Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and conferences (e.g. industry advisory committee, collaborating with local business, promoting professional growth, etc.) · Provides career guidance, support, and counseling to students (e.g. career options/goals, job search strategies, interview prep, etc.) · Directs Paraeducators, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students

Requirements / Qualifications

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications · Skills to: Perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. · Knowledge of: Current practices in the aligned industry sector, including industry-standard tools and equipment, and general philosophy of ROP and instructional methodology. · Ability to: Organize and deliver content knowledge designed for high school students, create an environment conducive for student learning, work effectively as a member of an educational team, and communicate effectively both written and orally. Education & Experience: · High school diploma · Must hold or be eligible for the Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential in the Building and Construction Trades industry sector. To obtain a new CTE credential, applicants must have a minimum of 3,000 hours (or three years) experience in the Building and Construction Trades. · MCOE will support the selected candidate(s) in obtaining the required teaching credential(s). Desired Qualifications: · Experience working with youth as a teacher, coach, trainer, mentor, counselor, or facilitator · Bilingual English/Spanish
