The district is one of the oldest districts in the county, having been founded to serve area students in the late 1800s. Through the years, Banta has remained a small K-8 school district focused on meeting the needs of its diverse student population. As our district evolves we continue to adapt in order to best prepare our students for the future. We are a growing district with the recent opening of a large housing development within our attendance area and the continued interest in Banta Elementary as a school of choice for families. Banta Unified School District is seeking an engaging and student-centered High School English Teacher to provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in literature, writing, and language development. The ideal candidate fosters a classroom environment where students think critically, communicate effectively, and develop strong reading and writing skills that prepare them for college, career, and civic life. Responsibilities include designing meaningful lessons aligned to the California Common Core ELA Standards, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to support a strong instructional program. The teacher will support students in building analytical skills, developing academic vocabulary, and engaging in rich discussions and writing tasks.
