The Penn Valley Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees is seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Superintendent. The ideal candidate is an experienced and skilled administrator with a proven track record of exemplary leadership in delivering educational excellence and valuing strong traditions. The candidate will assume this administrative position on or around July 1, 2026. The ideal candidate qualifications: • A genuine interest in the mission of educating children and the vision to do so in a changing global environment; • The commitment to serve a rural school community and a vested interest in the success of its students and families; • The commitment to set high standards for students and staff through improved student achievement, teacher and parent involvement, and accountability; • High integrity and ethical standards that instill confidence and encourage teamwork; • A solid understanding of all aspects of school district management and operations, including but not limited to, board relations and policy, budget development and school finance, curriculum and instruction, testing and accountability, grant writing, current trends, Common Core State Standards, Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), and Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP); • A proven record of building and sustaining relationships with the community and engaging others to achieve the district's goals; • The ability to actively listen, make good judgement, take appropriate action, and set a positive tone for the district.
