Provides assistance to the school principal by assuming responsibility for major portions of a school operation, including the counseling, guidance and disciplining of students, attendance and health services and campus supervision and control. QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate Administrative or Supervision Credential; effective communicator; demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative manner with students, parents and other staff members; prior teaching experience is desirable. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinates, supervises and directs the student counseling and guidance programs, including health services and student records. 2. Administers the campus supervision and student control program. 3. Supervises and assigns the duties of all student service personnel. 4. Hears appeals on school counseling, guidance, attendance or disciplinary decisions. 5. Directs the work of the campus supervisors. 6. Organizes and directs the orientation program for incoming students. 7. Coordinates the compilation of student case histories and reports. 8. Coordinates work with outside agencies (sheriff, probation, welfare, etc.), the district office and other schools (including Continuation High School and Adult Education) on matters related to student supervision and control, welfare and attendance, guidance and counseling, etc. 9. Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel. 10. Coordinates student registration. 11. Assists with the planning and administers summer school. 12. Enforces parking lot regulations. 13. Administers the free lunch program. 14. Coordinates Independent Study placements. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: High School Principal

Requirements / Qualifications

Appropriate Administrative Services credential; prior administrative experience desirable; effective communicator; demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative manner with students, parents, and other staff members. A Master’s Degree and a minimum of four years of prior teaching experience are required.
