Job Summary

Under the administrative direction of an assigned supervisor and under the clinical supervision of the Credentialed School Nurse, provide specialized health care and assist the nurse in managing the mental and physical health conditions of students.

Requirements / Qualifications

Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. One-year experience working in the health care field. 3. Current California RN license in good standing. 4. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency. 5. Valid California driver’s license and compliance with CDE Pupil Transportation Driver Qualifications. 6. Incumbents must obtain specialized health care training given by the school nurse within 90 days of employment. 7. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice fingerprint clearance as required by California Education Code. 8. Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

RN positions with SLOCOE work with Special Education and/or Alternative Education. All applicants must meet minimum qualifications in order to be considered. While you will have a "home base" campus to foster consistent relationships with students and staff, you will also serve as a mobile resource for the county, traveling to various school sites to ensure comprehensive care and coverage.
