Job Summary
The Middle/High School Teacher provides classroom instruction that integrates academic excellence with a distinctly Christian worldview. This position is responsible for delivering engaging, rigorous instruction within their content area while fostering a disciplined, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment. Teachers are expected to demonstrate subject-matter expertise, scholarly engagement, and a commitment to cultivating students who thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. Each teacher is accountable to the Department Chair, Principal, and ultimately the Head of School.
Requirements / Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree (four-year degree) is required. A master’s degree in an educational field and/or a valid teaching credential is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong instructional practices, classroom management skills, subject-matter expertise, and the ability to integrate technology effectively into instruction. A vibrant and growing Christian faith aligned with the mission and Statement of Faith of Village Christian School is required.
Applicants must submit a completed employment application, resume, and proof of degree. Teaching credential documentation (if applicable) should also be submitted. Upon hire, employees must provide documentation verifying authorization to work in the United States (I-9), complete required background checks and Live Scan fingerprinting, and provide TB clearance in accordance with state regulations. A signed faith statement and any additional documentation required by school policy must be completed as part of the onboarding process.

The Middle/High School Teacher plans and delivers engaging instructional activities; maintains organized course plans and curriculum alignment; evaluates and documents student progress; assigns and grades coursework in a timely manner; communicates regularly with parents and colleagues; maintains a disciplined and respectful classroom environment; integrates technology into instruction; participates in meetings, professional development, and school events; supports students as a mentor and advocate; and collaborates with faculty and administration to advance the mission of Village Christian School. Teachers are expected to model Christ-centered character, professionalism, and teamwork at all times.
This is a full-time or part-time, exempt position for the 2025–2026 school year. Salary ranges from $45,000 – $70,000 per year and is dependent upon candidate qualifications and experience. Teachers assigned four (4) or more periods are eligible for benefits.
This position reports directly to the High School or Middle School Principal.
