Job Summary
Under direction of the Superintendent, the Principal serves as the instructional leader and chief administrator responsible for the educational program, student achievement and performance, and overall operation of the school. They provide leadership in implementing/evaluating curriculum and instructional strategies, as well as improving student achievement by always considering equity, social justice, and inclusivity. Additionally, the Principal participates in staff, student and community activities, and organizes, directs, evaluates and supervises assigned certificated and classified staff. They assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board of Education policies and administrative regulations by the staff and students of the school. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: The following are typical duties and responsibilities for positions in this classification. Any single position may or may not perform all of these tasks, and/or may perform similar related tasks not listed below; Leadership of the Instructional Program and Learning Environment. Directs, coordinates, implements and evaluates instructional programs in accordance with state and federal laws, District regulations and other specially funded program requirements. Supervises and maintains accurate records on the progress and attendance of students. Monitors and directs proper grade placement of students and preparation of class schedules and assignments, which may include a master class schedule. Provides leadership in the realization of school goals and objectives through efficient school procedures, extracurricular programs and the cooperative efforts of the staff, families, students, and the community. Develops School Accountability Report Cards (SARC) and School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA) utilizing District Local Control Accountability Program (LCAP) goals. Serves as Local Educational Agency representative for Individualized Education Plan or Section 504 meeting

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree in related fields Master’s and/or Doctorate Degree (desired, not required) Bilingual English/Spanish, both oral and written (desired, not required) Valid California Administrative Services Credential Valid California Teaching Credential At least five years of successful teaching experience
