General Responsibilities

Reporting directly to a licensed School Psychologist, the School Psychologist Intern provides a full range of school psychological services to children ages 0-21, including screening and assessment, designing remedial educational programs, and individual and group counseling. The School Psychologist Intern participates as a member of the education team to determine the student's eligibility for special services and evaluates learning environments to meet IEP/IFSP goals and objectives. Direct weekly supervision is provided by the school district licensed school psychologist and indirect supervision by a university instructor.
Assignment:
This position is 37.5 hours per week, school year schedule. It will serve the Toutle Lake School District.Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:
- Consult with parents, administrators, teachers and students concerning the educational and emotional needs of students.
- Provide inservice and staff development to assist staff to address student needs.
- Coordinate student services between the school and other agencies.
- Serve as a member of education team.
- Administer and interpret tests of intelligence, achievement, multi-aptitude and methods of behavioral and curriculum based assessment.
- Determine eligibility of children with disabilities.
- Work with teachers to establish individual education plans.
- Complete all required reports and records.
Other Functions:- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in ESD 112 School Psychologist professional development meetings and trainings.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
-
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completed all prerequisite coursework for a Master's degree in School Psychology.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington state ESA school psychologist certificate.
- Experience with state and federal laws relating to students with disabilities.
- Experience serving students in rural or remote districts.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Travel within ESD 112 region.
- May be assigned to more than one school building.
- Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
