Job Summary
An Extended School Year (ESY) Behaviorist provides targeted behavioral support services during the summer session to help students maintain social-emotional and behavioral skills outlined in their IEPs or behavior intervention plans. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring behavior intervention strategies, collecting and analyzing data, supporting staff with behavior management techniques, providing direct student support, and collaborating with teachers, related service providers, and families. The ESY Behaviorist helps ensure consistency of supports and prevents regression of critical behavioral and self-regulation skills. Dates are 06/08/2026 - 07/06/26 with no school on 6/19 and 7/3.

The Walnut Creek School District is located in Northern California in the Bay Area. We operate five K-5 neighborhood elementary schools (three with TK), one K-8 school, and one 6-8 intermediate school. Grades TK-5 are primarily self-contained, while grades 6-8 offer a mixture of core and elective classes.
