Position Overview The Middle School Associate Teacher is a hybrid role that combines classroom support with progressive instructional responsibility for students in grades 6–8. Through observation, co-teaching, and mentorship from the Middle School Division Director, the Associate Teacher develops their instructional practice with the goal of taking on increasing responsibility over the course of the year. The pace and scope of this growth is individualized based on the Associate Teacher's development and readiness. Primary Responsibilities: Instructional Development ? Observe experienced teachers to learn Armstrong's approaches ? Co-teach alongside classroom teachers, gradually building toward independent responsibility ? Lead lessons, sections, or small groups as readiness develops ? Provide substitute coverage ? Assist with documenting student progress Classroom and Student Support ? Assist in creating a safe and supportive learning environment where children can develop their full potential ? Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, recess, and lunch ? Create and produce classroom materials to support curriculum needs (coloring, laminating, copying, ordering, etc.) ? Support Middle School writing, science, and history classes to help with classroom management during lessons ? Check in with students at the beginning and end of the day to help them with organization ? Actively part
