The Preschool Services Department (PSD) is excited to offer interested candidates an exciting opportunity to be a part of a cohort program that will jump-start their career in Child Development as a Teacher Aide II. The cohort program will be facilitated by an accredited educational institute and subject matter experts and will provide required education and hands-on-experience that will assist in obtaining a CA Child Development Associate Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). This 6-month paid program (full-time, Monday-Friday) will consist of classes that will be conducted virtually, and on-the-job training will be conducted at selected PSD sites throughout the County. Incumbents must be available Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day for 6-months and complete the program with satisfactory progress with both on-the-job training and classroom instruction for further employment consideration with the Preschool Services Department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: All candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and be 18 years old by May 31, 2026.
