TITLE OF POSITION: ATTENDANCE / CLERICAL ASSISTANT A. Primary Function: Perform clerical duties and assist the principal with student files and record keeping. B. Directly Responsible To: SIATECH Administrator C. Status: Non-exempt D. Assigned Responsibilities: 1. Perform clerical duties such as filing, duplications, typing, and maintain routine records. 2. Operate a personal computer, copier, typewriter, and a fax machine. 3. Interact positively with students and staff. 4. Make telephone calls as directed; take and relay messages. 5. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail. 6. Record and maintain student daily attendance. 7. Prepare and maintain permanent records on students. 8. Record student scores on permanent records. 9. Manage inquiries regarding student records. 10. Perform clerical duties without immediate and constant supervision. 11. Perform a variety of responsible office duties, enter a variety of text or numerical data into a personal computer; enter, update, and maintain accuracy of information. 12. Type written materials from straight copy or rough draft utilizing a typewriter or personal computer. 13. Schedule meetings, appointments, and conferences as needed. 14. Maintain records, inventories, index and cross-reference files; file data numerically or alphabetically. 15. Inspect and review documents to assure data is complete before entering into computer or before processing. 16. Communicate regularly with SIATech Administration Office regarding student data including but not limited to attendance, drops, adds, and transcripts. 17. Other duties as assigned. E. Knowledge and Abilities: KNOWLEDGE OF: • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. • Operation of a variety of office machines including personal computer. • Alphabetical, numerical, and subject matter filing systems. • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. • Telephone techniques and etiquette. • Working knowledge of various computer software programs. ABILITY TO: • Operate a personal computer, copier, typewriter, and fax machine. • Perform clerical duties such as filing, duplications, typing and maintaining routine records. • Understand and follow oral and written directions. • Perform clerical duties without immediate supervision. • Effectively interact with staff and students. • Excellent organizational skills required. F. Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years practical office experience; including experience operating computer equipment.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Two to three years of increasingly responsible administrative duties. Experience in a school setting preferred.
