Job Summary
The Associate Superintendent, Learning Support Services, shall be responsible directly to the Superintendent to provide executive leadership in achieving the District’s mission and organizational goals. The Associate Superintendent will be responsible for the overall leadership and operation of Learning Support Services.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Knowledge of – administration of public education, including curriculum development/evaluation, and program supervision; current local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and other requirements for compliance by the District; and general management principles, contract negotiations, conflict resolution, project management, public budgeting, information systems technology. Skill to – demonstrate success as a strong and visionary leader; plan, organize and direct the work of others; prepare clear and concise written statements of policy and procedure; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with District staff and administrators, students, parents or guardians, outside agencies, community groups, and the public. EXPERIENCE A minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible and successful site-level administrative leadership experience in education and a minimum of two (2) years school district-level administration. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS A minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, with a doctorate preferred but not required, including graduate work in educational management and/or curriculum development. Possession of appropriate California administrative credential.
