Job Title: Summer School Wellness Counselor Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wellness Counselor to support students' social-emotional well-being during our 2026 summer school program. This in-person, on-campus position involves working 4 days per week from June 15 to July 16, 2026, with hours from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The Wellness Counselor will provide individual and group support, helping students navigate challenges and build resilience. Staff will also participate in 3 professional learning days the week before summer school begins: June 9- June 11, 2026 Key Details: Schedule: 4 days a week for 5 weeks, June 15 - July 16, 2026. Hours: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Preparation: 3 paid professional learning days: June 9- June 11, 2026 Responsibilities: Provide counseling and support to students addressing social-emotional and wellness needs. Facilitate group sessions and activities to promote mental health, self-regulation, and resilience. Collaborate with teachers, families, and educational partners to support student success. Develop and implement strategies to foster a positive and supportive school environment. Participate in professional learning days and contribute to a collaborative summer school community. Qualifications: Valid counseling certification or license. Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Requirements / Qualifications
Valid California State License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT). License in Clinical Social Work is preferred. OR Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) in School Social Work (preferred) or School Counseling. Letter of Introduction Letters of Recommendation (3 Letters of Recommendation Not required for internal candidates) Resume (Not required for internal candidates)
