Current & Future Vacancies & Substitutes. Various locations - both Elementary and Middle Schools. Working hours are generally between 7:30am and 2:45pm, to be scheduled according to school site needs. Part-time positions are typically 3 to 6 hours per day (15 - 29.5 hours per week).

Requirements / Qualifications

THE POSITION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assists a certificated teacher(s) or specialist(s) in providing instruction to students in a special education learning environment; monitors and reports student progress, behavior and performance. Positions in this class are distinguished from other Paraeducator positions by assignment to work with students with mild to moderate (M/M) disabilities, such as students in a Special Day Class, or a Resource Specialist Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and demonstrated experience in working with children in a learning situation; preferably children with learning problems. College level training preferred. Score Relative Required Weight Written Exam 70% 50% Oral Exam 70% 50% If you have at least 48 units or credit hours of college coursework you are eligible to waive the written examination by attaching unofficial transcripts or AA Degree or higher to your application. Applicants with a high school diploma or GED without 48 units or credit hours of college coursework will be required to pass a proficiency test as legislated by the State of California.
