Job Summary
History Camp Coordinator Fourth grade students experience California history through interactive camps throughout the school year. The History Camp Coordinator is responsible for preparing and implementing the camp that simulates California’s gold rush period. The camp is typically nine days during the month of April. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Purchasing, organizing, and preparing camp materials (in collaboration with the Educational Services division) • Training paraeducators and filling paraeducator vacancies (as needed) • Communicating with the district office, campsites, school sites, and teacher teams to facilitate registration, materials, transportation, donations, and schedule modifications • Coordinating accommodations for students with special needs • Supervising paraeducators and volunteers • Providing instruction to students

Comments and Other Information
This position is paid a stipend of $2,792 per camp, paid after the conclusion of the camp.
***The Hands on History Coordinator is ideal for a retired teacher, a Job-Share teacher, or a substitute teacher who can commit to days of camp and time planning for the camp.
