TOSA: Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialist Grant Roles and Responsibilities 1. Works collaboratively with school site and district staff and leaders through an Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework that focuses on differentiated learning, student- centered learning, individualized student needs, and alignment of the systems needed to support the whole child. 2. In collaboration with the district TOSAs, ensures procedures to progress monitor students receiving MTSS Tiered supports are implemented and reviewed weekly. 3. Analyzes and utilizes student literacy data (e.g. literacy benchmarks, diagnostics, etc. ) for the purpose of developing or co-developing appropriate literacy interventions for students. 4. Utilizes best practices in equity and inclusion and infuse and adapt them to meet the unique needs of each student. 5. Participates in relevant site-level meetings to review referrals, student progress, and make recommendations. 6. Utilizes the district adopted curriculum and programs, develops and supports personalized learning programs based on each student's individual needs. 7. Establishes and maintains clear communication and cooperative working relationships with a variety of educators and community groups for selected students. 8. In collaboration with district TOSAs, ensures targeted instructional opportunities that maximize learning for all students. 9. Meets with identified student groups in 6-8 week cycles 10. Provides individual and small group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students. 11. Promotes and supports instructional practices that are culturally responsive. 12. Monitoring the progress of identified students, maintains records, and communicates with parents and teachers regarding the progress of students. 13. Works with identified site and district teams to help identify the best practices for individual students and groups of students. 14. Manages student intervention case
