Riverbank Unified School District is seeking a mission-driven educational leader to serve at Riverbank Language Academy (RLA), a TK–8 public dual-language immersion charter school in the city of Riverbank. Founded in 2007 by educators, families, and community members, RLA was created to provide a rigorous 90/10 Dual Language Immersion program that develops bilingualism and biliteracy for all students. Serving approximately 570 students, the school supports a diverse population and emphasizes high expectations, strong instruction, and meaningful school-community partnerships. RLA’s success is reflected in 8th grade CAASPP scores exceeding state averages, consistent growth in English and Spanish, and graduates earning the Seal of Multilingual Proficiency and entering high school prepared for Advanced Placement Spanish. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative instructional leader who values bilingual education, academic rigor, and the holistic development of TK–8 learners.

JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Site Principal, operates a self-contained or departmentalized classroom. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS May include, but not limited to the following: Instructional: 1.Plans and writes daily lesson plans for instruction as required by law. 2.Uses effective teaching techniques to provide instruction (whole & small group) for class. 3.Adheres to District policies, procedures, course of study, discipline plans. 4.Achieves positive teacher\pupil relations. 5.Generates enthusiasm for learning. 6.Monitors and achieves on –task student behavior. 7.Moves students through curriculum based on mastery. 8.Collects and assesses class work daily. 9.Administers appropriate testing as required. 10.Utilization of chalkboards, whiteboards, etc. 11.Utilizes hands-on activities for instructional delivery of curriculum as appropriate. 12.Plans for and prepares instructional materials as necessary for instructional units (materials\supplies\equipment). 13.Provides for the needs of students utilizing inside as well as outside resources, supplemental materials, varied strategies, etc. Student Management: 1.Evaluates pupil progress and adjusts instruction as necessary. 2.Encourages responsibility for student tracking of student work, class projects, etc. 3.Creates classroom environment reflective of curriculum (including bulletin boards). 4.Maintains up-to-date students’ records. 5.Utilizes effective discipline techniques. 6.Reports students’ progress to parents and make recommendations. 7.Maintains classroom atmosphere conductive to learning. 8.Maintains written, clear lesson plans including assignments appropriate to grade level. 9.Monitors student work and behavior. Professional: 1.Achieves and maintains effective teacher\parent relations. 2.Achieves and maintains positive staff relations. 3.Performs adjunct duties as assigned. 4.Promotes a positive image of public education. 5.Participates in school functions, including, but not limited to, assemblies, award, competitions, field trips, 6.Meets deadlines 7.Continues planned professional development. 8.Follows District and school policies and procedures. 9.Attends staff meetings and grade level meetings. 10.Works in conjunction with other support staff when working with students. 11.Review curriculum materials. Ability to: •Work compatibility with “grade-level teaming” environment •Communicate effectively with parents and staff administration •Organize\direct routine appropriate for grade level. •Maintain discipline for effectively working with grade level students Medical Category (light physical effort): •Position requires no extraordinary physical strength or qualifications •Work assignments are normally located in a work environment with no unusual physical requirements or environmental conditions; require only light physical functions. •Lifting 25 pounds maximum or carrying any object weighing over 15 pounds.
