Credential Requirements & Eligibility This position requires eligibility for a California CTE Teaching Credential in the Business & Finance Industry Sector. Acceptable Credential Pathways Candidates may qualify under one of the following: 1. Designated Subjects CTE Teaching Credential (Preliminary or Clear) Business & Finance Industry Sector Requires: Typically 3 years of industry experience (1 year recent), or A combination of postsecondary education and industry experience. 2. Business and Industry Partnership Teacher Authorization (BIPT) For industry professionals entering teaching. Allows candidates to teach while completing required pedagogy and orientation. 3. Intern or Provisional Eligibility WAHS will consider candidates who are: Eligible for enrollment in a CTE intern program, or Actively pursuing a preliminary CTE credential with a county office or university. Clear Credential Expectation Candidates hired under preliminary or intern status must commit to completing a Commission-approved Clear CTE Credential program, including: Pedagogy Student learning theory Instructional methods Assessment and classroom management
Minimum Qualifications Eligibility for a California CTE credential in Business & Finance. Demonstrated experience or expertise in: Business, entrepreneurship, finance, or related industry. Ability to design instruction for students with diverse academic and learning needs. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Education, or related field and CTE Credential Prior secondary teaching or instructional experience. Experience with: Project-based learning Work-based learning programs Dual enrollment or college articulation Industry advisory boards or business partnerships. WISH Academy High School (WAHS) is seeking a dynamic and innovative CTE Business & Entrepreneurship Instructor to serve as the lead teacher for its newly developed Entrepreneurship Pathway. This is a 0.5 to1.0 FTE certificated position, funded through the K–12 Strong Workforce Program, with responsibility for launching and sustaining a high-quality Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway beginning in the 2026–27 school year.
The Entrepreneurship Instructor will design and implement a rigorous, inclusive, and industry-aligned program of study grounded in real-world business practice, project-based learning, and strong postsecondary and industry partnerships. Instruction must be structured to support students of all learning abilities and designed to prepare students for both college and career success in business and entrepreneurship fields.
