Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Academic Support within the Continuous Improvement and Academic Support (CIAS) Department, the Assistant Director of Academic Support supports leadership and coordination of CA’s CLSD, priority 3, grant, Lead to Literacy (LtL), improving literacy outcomes for secondary students. This position will help facilitate LtL grant implementation, data analysis, and compliance requirements and maintain strong working relationships with LtL district and school-site leaders to strengthen student achievement and equity outcomes. This position bridges strategic planning and day-to-day implementation of LtL by supporting program managers and instructional coaches, facilitating collaboration between NCOE teams and LEA partners, and ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned to county, state, and grant priorities. The Assistant Director will support the planning, organization, coordination, and implementation of professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance services in literacy, mathematics, multilingual learner support, and continuous improvement for local Napa County schools, districts, and teams. This position is grant funded and dependent on CA’s CLSD initiative.

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A master's degree in education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required

• A California Administrative Services Credential is required.

• Appropriate California teaching credential is required.

• Seven or more years of successful full-time certificated public-school experience, including classroom teaching, instructional coaching, or program coordination at the district or school level. Two to three years of site-level or district-level administrative experience.

• Experience supporting instructional improvement initiatives and working collaboratively with teachers and administrators

• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including teachers, administrators, and educational partners.

• Experience analyzing student data and using data to inform instructional decisions and program improvements.
