The Manhattan Beach Unified School District (MBUSD) Governing Board is seeking a visionary leader to serve as its next Superintendent. Located in the coastal region of the Los Angeles South Bay, the award-winning district serves 5,900 students in grades PreK-12 across eight campuses. Frequently recognized in the top 5% of California public school districts, MBUSD maintains a fundamental mission to prepare all learners to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing, highly complex, and digitally-connected society. LEADERSHIP and HUMAN RELATION SKILLS MBUSD seeks a Superintendent with a track record of distinction and demonstrated ability to: • Provide visionary leadership that serves as an inspiration across the organization. • Model a growth mindset that reimagines what is possible and drives learning, feedback, and continuous improvement. • Address academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of all learners. • Develop/foster a climate of care and inclusion across schools. • Provide clear, timely, and proactive communication and match the message to the audience. • Build relationships and trust by listening and seeking joint solutions. • Ensure the long-term fiscal health of the district. • Work in partnership with the Governing Board to take the district to the next level. EXPERIENCE/JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Experience working in a PreK-12 public school setting (required) • Experience as a site principal (required) • Working knowledge of instruction, business and human resource functions (preferred) • Three to five years serving in a cabinet level position (preferred) • Doctoral degree (preferred) • Valid/current California Administrative Credential (required) APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS • The following documents must accompany the application: - Cover Letter - Resume - Minimum of three (maximum of five) current Letters of Recommendation
