The Old Mission Catholic School community is seeking a dedicated, creative, and faith-filled teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate is an educational leader who integrates Catholic values into all aspects of the classroom environment and supports the spiritual, academic, and social-emotional growth of every student. Key Responsibilities Instructional Excellence: Design and implement rigorous, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Diocesan standards and 21st-century best practices. Faith Formation: Model Gospel values through daily interactions, lead classroom prayer, and assist in preparing students for school-wide liturgies and religious activities. Classroom Management: Cultivate a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that fosters a sense of belonging and respects each child's dignity. Collaboration: Partner effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration to support the school’s mission and student success. Professional Growth: Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and diocesan in-services to continuously enhance instructional skills. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (required). Credential: Valid Teaching Credential (Multiple Subject preferred). Clearances: Must pass Livescan fingerprinting and background checks through the Diocese. Certifications: Current VIRTUS certification (Safe Environment training) or willingness to complete it upon hire. Catholic Identity: A practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred to fully support the school's religious mission.

MATERIALS: Full-time position requiring a Teaching Credential, transcripts, a letter of introduction, a resume, and three letters of recommendation. Experience teaching elementary school students is desired, but not required. Old Mission Catholic School is a TK-8 school in San Luis Obispo, CA. We are looking for outstanding individuals to join our teaching staff who are committed to educating students in mind, body, and spirit. Candidates will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with parents and students. While being Catholic is preferred, applicants do not need to be Catholic to be considered for the position.
