Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general supervision, assists in conducting a play-based learning experience for students and performs a variety of clerical and supportive tasks for the classroom teacher. This position is part of the classified bargaining unit. Hours are 8:15 am-3:15pm Mon-Fri EXAMPLES OF DUTIES – Important duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Assists instructional personnel with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises; 2. Assists certificated personnel in academic learning 3. Meets with students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up on learning activities; 4. Supervises students during classroom activities, in the library, on field trips, music, PE, and at lunch and recess; 5. Assists with the administration of assessments; 6. Performs a variety of regular clerical duties, such as filing, typing, or duplicating materials; 7. Maintains student records and files; 8. Operates a variety of instructional media, office machines, and equipment; 9. Assists students in various self-help skills such as eating, toileting, care of clothing, and hygiene; 10. Performs other related duties as assigned, which are reasonably related to the above.

Requirements / Qualifications

Possession of a high school diploma, or its equivalent Two years of college (48 units),?or A.A. degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction (This is a locally approved assessment). 12 units in Early Childhood Education *Letter of Introduction *Resume *Letters of Reference Letters - must be current (within the last two calendar years) Copy of Transcripts to verify ECE/College Units (Official Copy upon hire) Background clearance (upon hire) TB clearance (upon hire)
