GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must subscribe to an Oath of Allegiance, submit to a general tuberculosis examination, be fingerprinted, complete a pre-placement physical examination, and show proof of their identity and right to work in the United States as conditions of employment. The District has adopted a drug free work place policy. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results from drug testing. In order to be considered qualified for a vacancy in this classification, an applicant must possess the relevant training, education and experience required, and attain placement on the eligibility list by successfully passing all examination parts pertaining to the classification. ELIGIBILITY LIST - Applicants must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment process to be considered for this position. A Senior Management examination will be conducted and will result in the establishment and certification of an unranked eligibility list. Statements of these principles and policies are expressed in the merit system Rules and Regulations PERMANENCY: An employee in a position designated by the governing Board as “Senior Management” of the classified service shall have all the rights, benefits, and burdens of other regular classified management employees except he/she shall be exempt from all provisions of the law/rule relating to obtaining permanent status in a senior management position. An employee serving in a Senior Management position, if released from that assignment, shall retain bumping rights to any classification in which he/she has previously earned permanency within the classified service of the district. EDUCATIONAL STIPEND: An annual stipend in the amount of $1500 is provided for possessing a Master's Degree, if applicable. An annual stipend in the amount of $1500 is provided for possessing a Doctoral Degree, if applicable. RETIREMENT - All new employees who work four hours or more must become members of the California Public Employees Retirement System and the Federal Social Security program; contributions are made towards this by both the District and employees. Effective July 1, 1991, employees working less than half time will have full retirement coverage under Social Security. SICK LEAVE - Regular full time twelve-month employees shall earn 12 days paid sick leave for each year of service. Unused full pay sick leave may be accumulated without limit. Sick leave will be prorated for employees working less than twelve months. VACATION - Senior management employees shall earn 26 days paid vacation leave for each year of service.During leap years, the employee shall be entitled to 27 days of vacation. Unused and unpaid vacation days shall accrue up to a maximum of fifty-two (52) days. Once the maximum of fifty two (52) vacation days has accrued, further accrual of vacation days will cease until accumulated vacation is used to reduce the number of unused accumulated days below fifty-two (52). At that time, vacation accrual will recommence, until a maximum accrual of fifty-two (52) days is again reached.The maximum accrued and unused vacation days for which the employee will be paid upon retirement, resignation, or termination shall be twenty-six (26) days.
