Job Summary

Job Summary

Natomas Unified School District is seeking two Food Services Supervisors to provide leadership, oversight, and support across school site nutrition operations. Under the direction of the Director of Nutrition Services, Food Services Supervisors play a key role in ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, staff development, and consistent implementation of department standards. This position serves as a vital link between district leadership and site-based staff. Food Services Supervisors regularly visit school sites to coach, support and evaluate Nutrition Services staff. They monitor operations for compliance with federal and state nutrition program requirements and assist with training and onboarding. The role also supports menu implementation, recipe rollouts, and food production practices, including batch cooking and standardized procedures, in collaboration with central kitchen staff and culinary partners. Successful candidates bring strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to supporting teams in diverse, fast-paced school environments.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education And Experience: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade is required. Coursework or training in culinary arts, food service management, or nutrition services is required. Supplemental college-level coursework in public administration, personnel management, nutrition, or a related field is desirable. Ongoing professional development in school nutrition or food service leadership may be required. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in food service operations is required, including at least two years in a lead or supervisory role. Experience may include food production, catering, purchasing, inventory control, accountability, merchandising, and customer service. A culinary or chef background is preferred. Experience in a school food service program is highly desirable.
