Certificated: Exempt SUMMARY DEFINITION: Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education and the site administrator, to provide a broad range of psychological services essential to understanding the academic, social, emotional, physical and psychological needs of students; and to provide responsible assistance to the site principal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include, but not limited to the following) Administer and interpret psychological tests and prepare related reports. Administer individual student ability and achievement tests; interpret results; prepare reports and conduct conferences with appropriate staff. Counsel and consult with students, teachers and parents/guardians in regard to student problems which adversely effect their educational development; recommend alternatives. Plan and develop, in cooperation with administrators, teachers and other appropriate adults for the educational programming of referred students. Monitor and evaluate special education programs; determine appropriateness of placements. Consult and collaborate with outside agencies regarding individual cases; provide referrals as deemed necessary. Facilitate communication between home and school in regard to psychological or social needs of pupils; coordinate parent education workshops or related activities with parents. Serve on Student Study teams and IEP teams for Special Education Programs. Work with staff, student and families in Spanish and English preferred. Collaborate to provide guidance and counseling to students and/or parents/guardians with learning, behavior and/or socio-emotional challenges. Provide individual and group services to students and/or parents/guardians that emphasize improved academic and/or socio-emotional performance. Screen and evaluate referred children including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports which report the evaluation findings and sugges
