Job Summary
Julian Charter School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support our JCS-Pine Valley program from March through the end of May. This is a certificated, temporary assignment designed to ensure continuity of instruction and support student learning during the regular teacher’s absence. The Long-Term Substitute will be responsible for implementing lesson plans, maintaining classroom routines, and fostering a positive, engaging learning environment aligned with Julian Charter School’s instructional philosophy. Primary Responsibilities -Deliver classroom instruction using provided lesson plans and curriculum -Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment -Implement classroom routines, behavior expectations, and instructional strategies -Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback -Maintain professional communication with students, families, and staff as needed -Document attendance and complete required classroom records -Collaborate with school staff to support student success Why Join Julian Charter School? Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a current CA Single Subject teaching credential - English. If you do not currently hold an appropriate California credential at the time of your application, your application will not be considered.
In addition to a resume and letter of introduction, we require three letters of recommendation, a current negative TB test, current CPR certification, and copies of all college transcripts to be uploaded at the time of application. JCS Pine Valley is a TK-12 public charter school sponsored by MEUSD. We have both a home study program and an academy program. TK-12 home study families meet regularly with a credentialed teachers to go over assignments and curriculum. There are a variety of opportunities and resources available. Academy students attend classes 2 days per week and have assignments to complete at home the other days of the week. Students and services are spread out throughout San Diego County.
