ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIP Works under the direct supervision of MOT Supervisor and/or District Superintendent to operate a school bus over designated routes to transport students; assists in the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment. Employee will operate and maintain school busses. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Drives a bus daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, pick up and discharging students. 2. Transports students and teachers on the field and athletic trips to various locations. 3. Fuels and washes bus; maintains interior of bus; checks tire condition, air brakes, fire extinguishers, first-aid equipment, signal lights, and gauges, assures that bus is in safe operating condition, etc. 4. Maintains good order among students on bus, following District Bus Policies regarding discipline of students, and contact with parents and other citizens. 5. May maintain records, may provide first aid when required. 6. Drive truck to transport supplies and equipment within and outside district. 7. Performs any other duties assigned by the District Superintendent When not driving a school bus, will assist with; 1. cleaning classrooms, restrooms and other school sites or other assigned areas 2. a variety of general grounds maintenance and gardening work, etc. 3. floor maintenance and may be assigned to work in district warehouse 4. operating small power equipment/tools and makes minor repairs to school buildings/equipment 5. caring for lawns, shrubs, use of insecticides, fertilizers plumbing/sprinklers, etc. 6. any other duties assigned by the District Superintendent
