Job Summary
The Certified Wellness Coach I/II (CWC I/II) is a state-certified position established by California’s Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) to support the behavioral health and well-being of children and youth. The CWC I or CWC II provides prevention and early intervention services, engages students using culturally and developmentally appropriate practices, and connects youth to higher levels of care as needed. Core responsibilities include psychoeducation, system navigation, crisis de-escalation, safety planning, coping skills development, and motivational interviewing. The position works as part of a coordinated care team under the supervision of a PPS-credentialed professional, licensed clinician, or designee. This role also serves as an entry-level career pathway into youth mental health professions.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Associate degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training as determined by HCAI standards Licenses & Other Requirements: Certified Wellness Coach I or II, or Registered-Certified Wellness Coach I or II certification through the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI)
