Job Summary

Job Summary

Our Ideal Candidate Will: • Gather and review attendance data to identify excessively truant students. • Assess students with attendance issues, conduct home visits to evaluate the family environment, and monitor and update address changes for students. • Collaborate with school staff to develop interventions for students who are truant and develop individualized service plans to improve attendance. • Implement case management services (including individual counseling); monitor student/family progress; and make referrals to other professional staff members or community agencies as needed. • Serve as a liaison between assigned schools and such agencies as social services, court services, and the police department regarding student truancy. • Assist with implementing truancy prevention programs for assigned schools and recommend strategies to support and improve regular school attendance (i.e., incentives, peer groups, recognitions). • Work with the community to help students with job placement and internships. • Help coordinate enrollment and recruitment of students from neighborhood schools.

You’ll Need The Following Minimum Requirements: • BA/BS Degree preferred • California 30-day Substitute permit preferred • Ability to remain composed, make sound decisions, and respond promptly in urgent or emergency situations •1 - 2 years of related experience
