Job Summary

Job Summary

The RBT works under the supervision of the BCBA and in collaboration with the classroom teacher and staff. The RBT will collect data and conduct assessments under their certification and in conjunction with the BCBA. Registered Behavior Technicians are highly trained support staff assigned to assist classroom staff and support those students who have severe challenging behaviors. The RBT will assist staff in the design and implementation of both classroom-wide and individual positive behavior support systems to decrease inappropriate, undesirable behaviors which impede student access to curriculum and increase appropriate, desirable behaviors that will improve student academic success. Requirements / Qualifications

- Registered Behavior Technician Certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain registration as Behavior Technician within the 3.5 months of hire into the position*** - Must possess 48 semester units from an accredited college or university; or 2) Associate’s degree or higher; - At least two years of experience working with students in a classroom or 1:1 setting. - Experience with specialized populations with behavior needs. - Experience working in intense individualized programs addressing specific instructional and behavioral goals. - Experience working in settings with limited daily supervision. -Must successfully complete Quality Behavior Solutions or approved equivalent certification within three months of hire date and maintain annual recertification. - Possesses a valid California Driver’s License - Possesses and maintains a current certification of CPR/First Aid training ***To obtain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician, the applicant must be 18 years of age, possess a minimum of a high school diploma or national equivalent, complete 40 hours of training, complete a criminal background check, pass the RBT Competency Assessment, and past the RBT exam. Renewal of certification requires annual passage of RBT Competency Assessment, completion of a renewal, ongoing supervision and compliance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BCBA) ethics requirements relevant to RBTs.
