Part-time (20%), on site resource teacher to work with full time educational specialist case managing and teaching a share of K-8 special education students for a small public charter school located in Antioch, CA. Wonderful school setting, staff, families, and students. Great position for someone interested in a supportive and collaborative part-time position, excellent position for a retired resource teacher or someone just getting started in Special Education.

Requirements / Qualifications

The primary role and responsibility of the part-time Special Education Teacher is to provide services to special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences that will enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. The Special Education teacher will develop student ability level instructional materials through modified curriculum and prepared lesson plans. The Special Education teacher will conduct work in self-contained, team, or within the regular classroom as appropriate. Part-time special education teacher will work closely with full time special education teacher managing caseloads. Resource Specialists will work with ACA staff as a member of a team of teachers working for students who qualify for services outside the regular educational program. Resource specialist(s) will be active participating member of the school community, including participating in the school's cooperative model. ACA prides itself on being a school where staff members are a part of a team to create optimum learning environments for students. Appropriate California Commission on Teacher Credentialing certificate, permit or other documentation equivalent to what a special education teacher in other public schools would be required to hold.
