Job Summary
Under general supervision of the site administrator, the Ceramics Lab Technician assists the Ceramics Instructor in the preparation, maintenance, and safe operation of the school’s ceramics laboratory, equipment, and materials. The position supports instructional activities in ceramics and related visual arts classes by preparing clay, glazes, and tools; firing kilns; maintaining equipment; and ensuring proper safety and cleanup procedures are followed. The technician provides technical assistance to teachers and students engaged in ceramics projects and ensures compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework or supplemental training in ceramics, studio arts, or a related field preferred. One year of experience working in a ceramics studio, art lab, or related environment involving the operation and maintenance of kilns and ceramic equipment. Experience in an educational or instructional support setting is desirable.
