Job Title: Substitute Early Learning (Preschool) Classification: Substitute / At-Will On-Call / As Needed Work Year: On-Call (varies by assignment) Department: Early Learning/ School Site Administration Job Summary Education: Requires 6 units of Early Childhood Education Essential Duties 1. Administer developmental assessments; plan curriculum for students; plan activities; prepare materials for students and parents; 2. Make referrals to appropriate services based on family needs; 3. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and learning activities; 4. Complete documents required for program activities in a timely manner; 5. Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly and attractive learning environment; 6. Assist with parent contacts by telephone or in person serving as an interpreter as required; 7. Operate various office equipment (typewriter, computer, copy machine, etc.); and 8. Meet regularly with teachers and/or certificated support staff to plan program activities and review materials and assignments; 9. Assure the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures; 10. Communicate with collaborating agencies, district personnel, parents, students and the public to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns; speak, translate into the primary language; 11. Attend and participate in State Preschool staff meetings; attend various in-service meetings as assigned.
