Job Title: Substitute Food Service Classification: Substitute / At-Will On-Call / As Needed Work Year: On-Call (varies by assignment) Department: Food Services / School Site Administration Job Summary Under supervision, prepares and serves food in a cafeteria, serving kitchen or central kitchen; maintains food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; performs related duties as required. Essential Duties 1. Assist in the preparation of main dishes, vegetables, salads, fruits, sandwiches, and beverages. 2. Assist in baking of breads, cookies, cakes, pastries and other desserts. 3. Set up utensils and equipment for lunches. 4. Serve a wide variety of lunches and snacks to students, faculty and others. 5. May assist with the collection of moneys received from the sale of school lunches, snacks and other food stuffs. 6. Clean and store dishes, utensils, cafeteria equipment and food supplies. 7. Clean work areas and dispose of refuse. 8. May assist with wrapping, packing and loading of food for transport to satellite serving kitchen. 9. May assist in taking inventory. 10. May supervise student helpers. 11. Operate mixer, grinder, dishwasher and other equipment common to large kitchens. 12. Perform other duties as requested
