Job Summary

The Carden Conejo Middle School English and Social Studies Teacher / Instructional Support Teacher will provide [foundational Carden] instruction to the sixth grade students. As we grow the middle school to add seventh and then eighth grades, instruction will expand into those grades. This teacher will provide one-to-one and small group support to kindergarten through fifth grade students when not teaching and prepping for sixth grade instruction year one. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, implement and monitor middle school Carden English and Social Studies programs at Carden Conejo that engages middle school students and helps them love school and learning. Serve as the anchor teacher, available to students for connection, support, and problem solving throughout the day. Create engaging, challenging weekly lesson plans for all English and Social Studies classes using the Carden curriculum. Cultivate a respectful, safe, and engaging learning environment. Conduct regular assessments of students to guide instructional planning and ensure students are progressing well. Assumes responsibility for curriculum and student progress goals. Incorporate appropriate social emotional learning and executive functioning skills in instruction and classes. Supervise students at recesses and events as assigned. Models professional and ethical standards, works collaboratively, and communicates effectively and positively with students, parents, staff, and the community.
