EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to:
- Education: Master’s degree in public administration, human resources management, labor relations, or a closely related field, and
- Experience: Five years increasingly responsible human resources management experience, including at least three years at the supervisory level. Extensive experience with employee relations and performance management is preferred.
- Valid California driver's license

THE POSITION
The Human Resources Division is now accepting applications for Director - Human Resources / Classified.
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources, plans, organizes, controls and directs formal and informal negotiations governing the terms and conditions of classified employee bargaining unit agreements and employee health care and disability benefits plans; oversees classified employee relations, performance management, leaves, unemployment insurance, and health, and benefits programs; assures compliance with legislation and related laws, rules and regulations applicable to human resources operations and benefits; supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel.
The individual in this position will support a diverse workforce of represented and unrepresented employees and work in a complex regulatory environment that requires the consistent and equitable application of collective bargaining agreements, the Education Code, merit system rules, and organizational policies and procedures, as well as other applicable laws and regulations.
This position is full-time, in-person and has a work year of 12 months, 261 days, 8 hours per day.
Leadership team members are eligible to receive a $2,500 annual stipend for a master’s degree and a $2,500 additional stipend for a doctorate, provide official documentation is submitted.

- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, schedule TBD.
- Second interviews may be held in-person.
